Veneers and dental crowns are both popular cosmetic solutions, but they serve different purposes. Veneers are thin, custom-made shells of porcelain or composite resin that cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance, addressing issues like discoloration, chips, or minor misalignments. They are ideal for enhancing the aesthetics of a smile with minimal alteration to the tooth structure. In contrast, dental crowns are more substantial caps that encase the entire tooth, offering strength and protection for severely damaged or weakened teeth. Crowns are used to restore function and integrity, often following root canals or significant decay. While veneers focus on cosmetic enhancement, crowns provide both restorative and protective benefits.
