Managing Teething Pain and Oral Care in Kids

Managing teething pain and oral care in kids is essential for their comfort and healthy development. As teeth begin to emerge, babies may experience swollen gums, drooling, and irritability. To ease discomfort, gently massage their gums with a clean finger or offer a chilled (not frozen) teething ring. Avoid teething gels with numbing agents unless recommended by a doctor. Start oral care early by wiping your baby’s gums with a soft cloth and introducing a small toothbrush once the first tooth appears. Use fluoride-free toothpaste for toddlers and supervise brushing. Establishing good oral hygiene habits from the start promotes healthy teeth and a pain-free teething experience.
