Hi there,

I was not sure if I had any gum problem because I would have swollen gums every now and then. However, I knew about gingivitis as my husband had it. So, I was cautious and consulted my dentist. He told me that I had the signs of gingivitis and needed to get my teeth scaled to remove the plaque and tartar. It was completed in one appointment, and I have been keeping a close watch on my gums ever since. I do not want the problem to escalate into something serious like periodontitis. So, I am brushing my teeth often and staying away from sticky and sugary foods. Here is an article that will give you all the details on gingivitis.
